Beach of AlphonseAlphonse lies south of Amirantes and about 500 km south of Mahé. It is a triangular shaped island, a part unsubmerged of a giant atoll surrounded by an enormous coral reef. No members of the genus Phelsuma have been reported yet. This is probably just a question of time since a luxury hotel has been build on the island, generating frequent traffic between other islands in the region.
