Distribution

Distribution of Phelsuma borbonica agalegaePhelsuma borbonica agalegae only occurs on the twin-island Agalega, North Island and South Island, 1120 Km north of Mauritius and 700 km northeast of Madagascar. The islands are far closer to the granitic Seychelles than to Réunion, the origin of the gene pool of this subspecies. Both islands have a total land area of only 70 square km.

Phelsuma borbonica agalegae is mainly found on coconut trees (Cocos nucifera) and the broadleaf trees (Terminalia catappa), but also in and around the houses and gardens.
