Terra Typica

Tsaratanana Mountains, North Madagascar

Description

Phelsuma lineata punctulata seems to be closely related to Phelsuma lineata elanthana but adapted itself to its montane habitat.

The base colour is metallic green like in the other subspecies but the red dorsal markings are absent. The dorsal pattern consists of smaller darker, nearly black, spots (points). The total length of holo- and paratype, both females, is 115 mm.

Biotope

Phelsuma lineata punctulata is a rock dwelling species like Phelsuma barbouri and Phelsuma malamakibo.
